SPRING (AND SOME RCA EVENTS) RETURN TO ROWAYTON!

Signs of spring are starting to pop up all around Rowayton and we are hopeful heading into warmer weather that there will be more opportunities to host RCA events in 2021 -- even if they look a little different than in the past. Here is a rundown of the latest in RCA news. Please know that as state guidelines shift on what is considered a Covid-safe event, we will adjust planning.

EASTER EGG HUNT

Saturday, April 3rd

Starting at 9:00am (RSVP for hour-long slots required 9:00am, 10:30am, 12:00pm)

The Community Center

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 3rd for a Covid-safe version of our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Event organizers have taken all necessary and recommended precautions and have aligned with the 6th taxing district in planning. All attendees over 3 years of age must wear masks and all families must sign up for a slot on our website in order for us to keep numbers within regulations. No walk-ups will be allowed. Sign up HERE for one of the time slots, and happy hunting! No egg donations will be accepted this year out of an abundance of caution.

TRASH BASH

Saturday, April 24th

10:00am

The Community Center

Join the Rowayton Historical Society and the Rowayton Civic Association for our annual Trash Bash. Bring out the whole family for an hour or two committed to cleaning up our beautiful town ahead of the summer season. Each group or family will sign in by the library, be assigned a specific route, given a map and bags and head out for a morning of community service picking up trash! This event will be planned in coordination with city and local officials and meet all public health guidelines. It is a great opportunity to teach the kids about civic duty and celebrate our planet.

NEW DATE! COMEDY NIGHT

Now Friday, September 10th and Saturday, September 11th

The Community Center

We are excited to announce that Comedy Night 2021 is now planned for two nights in September. Mark your calendars, book the sitter, and stay tuned for details on ticket sales.

STILL TIME TO GIVE TO THE RCA

Due to issues with mail service, many Rowayton families did not receive our annual appeal to support the Rowayton Civic Association this holiday season. We have been grateful for the generosity of so many during the pandemic and it is because of these gifts that we are in a position to (hopefully) hold many of our treasured events and continue to offer grants to local nonprofits and schools. If you have not given to the RCA Annual Appeal, please take a moment and make a gift today.

GEAR UP ROWAYTON

In case you’ve missed it, the RCA merchandise shop is now online and better than ever! Stock up on your favorite Rowayton hats, stickers, belts, leashes, koozies, roadies, tees and much more today.

A NOTE ON OUR RCA LOGO

RCA Logo PNG.png

You all know the RCA logo - our town’s treasured white and blue sailboat design. You’ve seen it and sported it on gear and bumper stickers, and proceeds from the sales of these support the RCA. Unfortunately, we have also noticed an increase of businesses and organizations using the logo for their own designs. Please note, that this below logo is trademarked by the Rowayton Civic Association and anyone using it without expressed permission will be contacted by our legal team.

NEW WEBSITE…

SIGN UP FOR RCA EMAILS FOR UPDATES & EVENTS

If you got this to your inbox, we have your email. But, do you have a friend or family member who is not receiving RCA updates? Please direct them to our beautiful new website at https://www.rowaytoncivicassociation.org/ to get on our mailing list. While you are at it, bookmark this new website as the URL has changed. Follow us on social @rowaytoncivicassociation.

CURRENTS NEWSLETTER

Twice a year, the RCA publishes a regular newsletter which is distributed to mailboxes across our town. Given the fluidity of our events schedule, we have decided to hold off the spring Currents publication by a few months. If you would like to advertise in our next issue please email Michelle Noe and we will be in touch when the time comes. It should be a jam packed Currents when it finally comes out!

We look forward to seeing you all as the weather turns warmer and, with a little luck and cooperation, we are hopeful to be able to host many of our events this year.

Cheers!
