WHAT A SUMMER IT HAS BEEN!
Thank you to everyone who has come out to one of our RCA events this season. We look forward to many more in 2021. Here is a look at what is coming up later this summer and into the fall.
Earlier this summer we announced a family movie night at the Community Center featuring Moana, food trucks, and music. Proceeds from the evening were intended to support some renovations at Bayley Beach. Given how busy this summer has been and limited ticket sales, we have decided to push this special evening to a later date. Anyone who has purchased tickets will be reimbursed.
The RCA is hopeful that local health conditions allow us to continue to bring you great programming into the fall and winter. Here’s the rundown of events to come, but please remember that we must put our community’s safety first and might need to cancel, postpone, or reimagine our remaining 2021 line-up.

SIGN UP FOR THE LABOR DAY VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
As part of the Labor Day Weekend festivities, the RCA will host the 4th Annual Co-ed Volleyball Tournament. The Tournament will take place on Sunday, September 5th at Bayley Beach, starting at 10:00am. Co-ed teams of local residents, ages 14 and up, will compete for bragging rights in a fun, pool play format tournament followed by the final beach concert of the Summer Music Festival. 6 players on the court at any time with a minimum of 2 women. $25 per team. FIREWORKS CELEBRATING THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 6TH TAXING DISTRICT
Join Rowayton and the 6th Taxing District to celebrate its 100th birthday on Sunday, September 5th. Start the evening with Eric Lindell at Bayley Beach as a part of the Summer Music Concert Series. Then enjoy a fireworks show after the sun sets. This is a special Labor Day Weekend of festivities including Porch Jam on Saturday, the Volleyball Tournament and wrapping up at the beach on Sunday night.
JOIN THE LADRIGAN SWIM RACES
Celebrate the end of the summer with the annual Arthur J. Ladrigan Swim Races and Family Fun Day at Bayley Beach on September 19th at 10:00am. We’ll start the swim races with the Lighthouse Race (a one-mile swim from Green’s Ledge Lighthouse to shore). Check-in for Lighthouse Race swimmers and their kayak escorts will start one hour prior to start. Following the Lighthouse Race is the Buoy Race (a swim from the buoy to the shore).
Last but certainly not least, are the Children’s Swim Races, which are grouped by age and run parallel to the beach. After the awards ceremony, all are invited to join in the traditional beach games, including tug-of-war, a pie-eating contest and an egg toss!

COMEDY NIGHT RETURNS
The RCA’s legendary Comedy Night is finally back on Friday, September 10th and Saturday, September 11th at 6:30pm! We have some incredible acts that are sure to bring down the house. One of Rowayton’s treasured evenings will feature several live comedy acts and a dance party to end the evening. Please remember the event is BYOB and to pack your picnic basket. We will have water for all from Go Pure! The events are both sold out -- we will see you in September!
RCA HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION IS BACK!
Come in costume to explore the hay maze, decorate a pumpkin, pet the animals, grab a goody bag, take a pony ride and parade with your peers! The Halloween Celebration will take place on Sunday, October 24th at 1:00pm on the Community Center lawn. Don’t forget about the Costume Contest run by the Rowayton Parents Exchange! The RCA is always looking for both adults and children to help with this event. Volunteers are needed at 9:00am to set up the hay maze.
OKTOBERFEST - GET READY!
It’s BACK! The Oktoberfest RCA Fundraiser will be back at the Rowayton Community Center on Saturday, October 23, from 5:00-10:00pm. Grab your lederhosen and dirndls and come join us for German food, German bier, and an evening filled of singing and dancing. A guaranteed evening of fun. Tickets include all you can eat and drink, and a commemorative beer stein! For more information please contact Jordan Saxe.
